Three year integrated Under-Graduate courses leading to a degree in Bachelor of Mass Media  [B.M.M.]. We have 2 divisions with a capacity of 60 Students each.

Dr. Navita Kulkarni, HOD

Dr. Navita is the HOD of Media and Journalism program and course Coordinator of MA(EMA) course and a Member of Board of Studies for Master’s in Mass communication and Journalism, University of Mumbai. Dr. Navita is also coordinator of PhD at UPG college in Media and journalism and is presently guiding 4 doctoral students. Dr. Navita Kulkarni has done her Masters in Mass communication and Journalism and has completed her Doctorate in Journalism and Mass communication. She has cleared her State Eligibility Test (SET) and was a University topper for Bachelor of Journalism and Communication. Dr. Navita Kulkarni has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has worked fordaily 'Maharashtra Herald' Pune as a correspondent and also worked as a sub-editor for Marathi daily Lokpatra. She has also worked as a stringer for Indian Express, Kohlapur. She is a member of  Examination Committee, Research Cell, Internal complaint Committee

Mrs. Madhuvanti Date

Prof. Date is a gold medalist of Philosophy (M.A.) and has been a topper of the University of Mumbai for her graduation as well as post-graduation exam. She has cleared SET as well as NET examination along with Junior Research Fellowship. Mrs. Madhuvanti is a faculty at BMM at UPG with 16 years of teaching experience.
She has completed her MBA (PGDHRM) approved by Distance Education Council, Central Govt. of India from Wellingkar's Institute of Management and Research. She is an exponent of classical Indian dance, Bharat Natyam and has represented India for the Indian folk dance festival held in France and Spain. She has co-authored a book on Communication Skills for F.Y.B.Sc.(I.T.) as per the new revised syllabus of Mumbai University w.e.f. Academic Year 2016-2017

Dr. Rashmi Gahlowt

Dr. Rashmi Gahlowt has over 15 years of teaching experience in the field of mass communication. She has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and administrative framework of her institution, notably serving as the Coordinator of the BA (MMC) department for seven years. In this capacity, she contributed significantly to curriculum development, student mentoring, and departmental growth. She has authored and presented several papers at both national and international conferences. She has also guided several master’s students in their dissertations. Her professional journey is enriched by valuable industry experience, having worked in research roles at Zee News Business Desk and the Hindustan Times Lifestyle supplement prior to taking up teaching full-time. Beyond academics, Dr. Gahlowt has been actively involved in institutional responsibilities. She has served as the in-charge of the Cultural Committee, Women’s Development Cell, and as a Program Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS). She has been a part of the Admissions Committee and has been preparing the college prospectus. Currently, she also serves as the Co-Convener of the Examination Cell, ensuring the smooth conduct of academic assessments with diligence and integrity.

Mr. Mayur Sarfare, BAMMC Coordinator

Mayur Sudhakar Sarfare is a Novelist and an Assistant Professor of Mass Media with a keen interest in creative writing. His range of subjects includes Understanding Cinema, Content Writing, Consumer Behaviour and Media laws. He began his career in Public Relations at India’s largest independent PR machinery – Adfactors PR, but love for media subjects and cinema drove him towards academics.

He is an ardent consumer of metaphysics and philosophy. A man of powerful words, Mayur Sarfare is much sought after for the multitude of thoughts that spring from an ever-curious mind, which he shares on Social Media platforms, urging people to sit up and think.

His growing popularity stems from the way he exhumes human truths and his knack of using English words ingeniously. He also enjoys hosting events and plays moderator during panel discussions.

'The Tonic' is his debut novel. 

Dr.Yatindra Hruday Ingle

Yatindra Hruday Ingle is a researcher and academic in the fields of Mass Communication and Journalism, with a particular emphasis on cultural discourse, media studies, and political communication. He has a PhD that discusses the influence of television political advertising on first-time electors, which is indicative of his interest in electoral behaviour and media influence. He has made significant contributions to academic administration, student mentoring, and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, leveraging his extensive teaching experience. His research interests encompass the study of hip-hop culture, digital communication, media effects, and political campaigning, with a focus on the themes of identity and popular culture. He has published scholarly work and is currently involved in interdisciplinary research.

Dr. Geeta Sharma

Dr. Geeta Sharma has cleared her State Eligibility test in Journalism and Mass Communication. She is a post graduate in Master of Arts in Communication and Journalism. She has also completed post graduate diploma programme (PGDBA) from Welingkar Institute of Management and Research in Finance. She has worked for various production houses in the capacity of Associate Creative Director for popular daily shows like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin (DJ's a Creative unit), Darna Mana Hai (Twenty Twenty Television Production, subsidiary of K Sera Sera Production) and Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi ( Balaji Telefilms). She has worked as a freelance scriptwriter for Bollywood TV shows for Zee UK channel. She has translated shows like Code Red Awaz and Bhanwar in English. She has also worked as institutional sales manager in the equity market. Overall, she has an experience of ten years in media and equity market.

Mr.Utkarsh Yadav

Utkarsh Yadav is currently pursuing his doctoral studies specializing in media, communication, and performance studies, with a focused academic interest in theatre and storytelling. With a strong inclination toward research in theatre, Utkarsh explores acting techniques, dramaturgy, and the pedagogical relevance of performance in communication studies. His research aims to understand how theatrical frameworks can enhance narrative construction, audience engagement, and expressive communication in modern media contexts. He is particularly interested in bridging traditional theatre practices with evolving digital storytelling formats. Member of Attendance Committee, Cultural Committee, Alumni Committee
