Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science and Commerce in association with Ad-Hoc Board of Studies in Information technology , University of Mumbai conducted a one-day workshop for the Revised Syllabus of T.Y.B.Sc.I.T Semester V in the subject of " Internet of Things" on 17th July,2018. The workshop was attended by the 130 faculty members of various affiliated colleges of University of Mumbai. Resource persons Prof Hiren Dand and Prof. Mandar Bhave conducted the hands-on sessions to provide the insights of the practical's based on the Raspberry Pi module.
The Department of Information Technology at Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science, and Commerce organized ‘Technovation’ an exhibition of T.Y.B.Sc I.T. and M.Sc. I.T. projects on July 28, 2018. This exhibition was organized as an industry-academia interface to bridge the gap between them. The exhibition was to showcase the final year projects for current students and guests.
Some of the projects exhibited were Smart Trolley using RFID technology, RFID based E-Challan System, Automatic Soil Irrigation, 2-D Self-Driving using Artificial Intelligence and many more.
The exhibition was held in Computer laboratory (3rd Floor) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The exhibition was visited by more than 100 students across disciplines from UPG and other neighboring colleges. The projects were well appreciated by students and staff of various colleges.
The distinguished presence of mentor of the college and joint treasurer Shri. Harshad H. Shah added to the prominence of the event in the eyes of teachers and students. It provided the much needed encouragement to the students and people were exposed to various emerging technologies and interdisciplinary relationship was established.
The exhibition concluded with a certificate distribution to the participating students by Principal Dr.Anju Kapoor.
